Local Independent Insurance Agency Various Services For Personal And Business Insurance

Published

on

The DMV is a gold mine for independent businesses. Especially since we have a lot of diversity and authentic culture within our area. Local Business Owner Placido Zelaya, started a business serving his community by educating individuals on ways to reduce the cost of insurance.  Since 2012, The former Montgomery Blair High School Alum & UMUC (now UMGC) Graduate has been providing phenomenal services that specialize in a variety of insurance solutions such as business registration, tags and titles, taxes, and more.

Located in the heart of Hyattsville, Maryland, Zelaya Insurance strives to maintain an honest and open concierge client experience which makes them unique in the insurance industry. Zelaya Insurance provides services in multiple states and the majority of business types, new drivers, bad records, international licenses, no license, etc. Right now, the independent insurance agency is in the process of opening another office location in Frederick, MD. Zelaya checked in with us and discuss the benefits of investing into insurance policies.

Q: How did you come up with the name of your company?

Placido Zelaya: The name was thought of by my last name and the services we offer. We love to focus on helping small businesses and providing the best personal insurance options.

Q: What inspired you to become a licensed insurance broker?

Placido Zelaya: Insurance is something that will never go away and is always needed which can survive any type of economy. Learning the business, I found that a lot of misinformation was being provided to the customers more to the Latino community. By educating them and explaining everything we have been successful.

Q: What type of products/services does Zelaya Insurance offer?

Placido Zelaya: We offer auto, home, business, and soon life insurance. We do tags and titles, business registrations, taxes, notary public, business cards, website designs, dot authority, and more.

Q: How do you help clients decide which policies are best for them?

Placido Zelaya: We have a variety of insurance carriers and know exactly what they look for. Having that advantage, we can determine which carrier will provide the best coverage and rate. Each situation Is different, not everyone will have the same price. By educating and providing the best insurance coverage we can place the best policy for our clients.

Q: Can you speak on the importance of having health insurance?

Placido Zelaya: Health insurance is very important although we do not offer health insurance, we do have a referral that we send our clients to. There are many state programs that provide affordable insurance coverage through your employer. Although it’s a cost burden, it is very important to have because you never know what will happen today or in the future. I recommend everyone to have health insurance or at least supplemental coverage which sometimes can be more affordable.

Q: What are the benefits of having health insurance?

Placido Zelaya: The benefit is that you can avoid a future expense that may not be in your budget. Not having it can be costly. Health insurance provides coverage for routine exams, medicines, and any procedures. Why not protect your body the most important thing to protect?

Q: If you could change anything about the healthcare industry what would it be and why?

Placido Zelaya: It should be universal healthcare and be free for everyone other nations can do it why not the USA? Big pharma and corporate greed need to stop. A powerful nation like us shouldn’t have homeless sectors like there are in California and other states. Having healthcare for everyone I think can greatly affect the economy and the workforce.

Q: Advice and tips for people looking into becoming licensed insurance brokers?

Placido Zelaya: Making sure you do things correctly being ethical in this industry is very important. This business can be very good or you can fail very badly. Ownership is the best way to go once you’re ready to make that leap. Know what you’re selling and be an educator of the industry. Knowledge is power.
