For May, we have the pleasure of making Olivia Wilson, the CEO of the Libby Kouture, our Entrepreneur of the Month. She was born and raised in Washington, D.C., until she moved to Prince George’s County, MD, at the age of 12.

Q: What inspired you to be an entrepreneur, and how long have you been doing it? What is your motivation?

Olivia: What inspires me most to be an entrepreneur is an extra income & flexibility within the job. I’m my boss, and I like it this way. My son, Zion, 2, motivates me every day to grind and stay focused.
Q: What exactly is your business?
Olivia: My business is called “Libby Kouture” it was founded in October of 2019. I sale a various amount of accessories such as hairclips, charm bangles, purses, piercing jewelry, necklaces, earrings, and more.

Q: What are some obstacles you ran into as a business owner, and how did you overcome those obstacles?

Olivia: The main obstacle I run into as a business owner is rude customers. I deal with this issue with self-therapy & consistently reminding myself that customer service and satisfaction goes a long way. As long as I am getting paid and the customer is satisfied, then nothing else matters.
Q: What are your future career goals? What do you have up next?
Olivia: My full-time career goals are to open up my boutique and to continue to sell affordable merchandise to people all over the USA. Growing up in D.C. is hard; most citizens are in poverty, loss of jobs, etc. So I must make everyone feel stylish’ with my inexpensive pieces.

Q: Talk about your proudest moment as a business owner.
Olivia: My proudest moment is when my customers send their feedback, and it’s “OMG, I LOVE MY ITEMS.” That makes me feel accomplished, and it feels as though my hard work has paid off.
