Meet Nija Charles: The Young Woman Behind Some of The Hottest Superstar’s Biggest Hits

Nija Charles is only 21-years-old and is writing some of our favorite songs

Nija Charles is a 21-year-old songwriter from New Jersey. She has risen very fast in the industry and has worked with artists such as the legendary Beyonce and New York rapper Cardi B.

Nija started taking writing and production seriously at the age of 13 according to her interview last year with The Fader. In 2016 she enrolled in New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. She later dropped out due to the success of her songwriting.

She moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career full time and expects to drop her own music in the future. Songs she has worked on include “Ring,” by Cardi featuring Kehlani, as well as “Love Happy” and “Heard About Us” for Beyonce and Jay-Z’s “The Carters” album. Other artists include Chris Brown and Jason Derulo.
