A 17-year-old Prince George’s County teenager has been charged as an adult for bringing a loaded gun to school
According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, a 17-year-old Gwynn Park High School student was detained and charged with bringing a loaded gun onto school grounds.
According to authorities, a staff worker discovered the gun in the nurse’s office restroom shortly after the student exited. Around 10 a.m., the gun was found.
The school resource officer was notified, and he seized charge of the pistol. The student’s bookbag was also found to contain marijuana, according to police.
Authorities say the teenager faces charges of having a handgun on school grounds, having a handgun by a minor, having a handgun on person, and a drug-related crime.
Authorities also said the 17-year-old pupil has been charged as an adult.
