Teenager shot while with his mother as they leave a laundromat in East Riverdale
A 14-year-old boy was shot on Tuesday as he and his mother were leaving a laundromat in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and is currently in the hospital.
According to Prince George’s County police, the incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. in the East Riverdale neighborhood’s 6600 block of 66th Avenue, off Riverdale Road.
Police said that two suspects shot 30 rounds.
Prince George’s County Police Chief Malik Aziz stated:
“We believe that the perpetrators, who were two unknown males, walked up and began firing shots from a bush line from the public sidewalk.”
He claimed that according to investigators, the adolescent was not the intended victim. Prince George’s County police are requesting anyone with knowledge to get in touch with them. Call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS if you have any information. The P3 Tips app can be used to submit tips.
The adolescent was admitted to the hospital originally in “critical condition.” The status was then changed to “stable,” according to authorities, at the time.
