The fatal shooting of a 29-year-old Silver Spring man is being investigated
A release says that detectives from the Montgomery County Police are looking into the shooting death of 29-year-old Nathaniel Potts of Silver Spring on Friday morning.
At 3:05 a.m., there was a report of a shooting in the parking lot of the Summit Hills Apartment complex, which is in the 8500 block of 16th Street. Officers went there to check it out. They found Potts there with what looked like a gunshot wound.
Potts was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that could have killed him, but police say he was pronounced dead there.
A first look at the crime scene showed that Potts was shot while he was in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
