A man has been charged in connection with a shooting that occurred in Annapolis on Thursday evening

Annapolis police have charged a 56-year-old man in connection with a gunshot that occurred Thursday evening.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Newtowne Drive at 6:22 p.m., where they discovered a guy with a gunshot wound to the lower body.

Investigators acquired evidence pointing to Donald Davis as the suspect. On the same day, he was arrested.

The police did not specify what prompted the shooting.
