Nonprofit pays off mortgage for fallen Firefighter Howard County
Tunnel to Towers, a group that aids the families of slain first responders, said Monday it paid off the mortgage of July 2018 Howard County firefighter Lt. Nathan Flynn.
Flynn went through the floor while fighting a seven-alarm Clarksville house fire. Flynn was found 22 minutes after rescuers entered the smoke-filled home.
Hospital death followed. The department’s first career line-of-duty death.
The 34-year-old lives in Havre de Grace with his wife and five children. He was posthumously promoted to Lieutenant.
Flynn volunteered with Susquehanna Hose Company.
As part of its Season of Hope Campaign, the foundation covered Flynn’s mortgage.
