Washington Wizards Have Traded CJ McCollum & Corey Kispert To Acquire Trae Young From Atlanta Hawks

On January 7th, the Washington Wizards acquired star point-guard Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks in exchanged for veteran guard CJ McCollum and 5th year player Corey Kispert. After news broke about Trae Young wanting out of Atlanta, the Wizards became a preferred destination. Here’s an overview of the team Trae Young is joining. Over the last 12 games, the Wizards are 7-5.

Trae Young joins this team averaging 19.3 points, 1.5 rebounds, 8.9 assists on 41.5% shooting from the field. Young has been dealing with a Quadriceps injury. Young is the Hawks’ all-time leader in 3-pointers (1,295) and assists (4,837). He led Atlanta to the postseason three times, including a run to the Eastern Conference finals in 2021. Okongwu is now the only player left on the Hawks’ roster from that team.
