Tyra Coach Bridges Art, Fashion, and Identity for International Women’s Month
Tyra Coach is a visual artist and designer from District Heights whose work explores the intersection of fine art, fashion, and identity. A recent MFA graduate in Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Tyra is recognized for her bold use of color, portraiture, and fashion-inspired imagery that celebrates culture, individuality, and storytelling.
Her artistic practice spans painting, murals, and design, with projects across Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Philadelphia. In addition to her studio work, Tyra works closely with artists with intellectual disabilities as an art instructor, using creativity as a tool for empowerment, community engagement, and accessibility in the arts.
Through her work, Tyra seeks to bridge fine art with everyday culture, highlighting the influence of fashion, identity, and community within contemporary art. She continues to pursue opportunities in museums, public art, and design while expanding her creative practice and uplifting the communities that inspire her.
