Tyra Monet Sellers Champions Wellness, Community, and Holistic Health for International Women’s Month
Tyra Monet Sellers is a Public Health and Community Health Advocate, Wellness Curator, Certified Pilates Instructor, and founder of Ty’s Garden Company, making a meaningful impact across the DMV area. A native of Bowie, Tyra’s work reflects a lifelong dedication to wellness, community connection, and intentional living.
She earned her degree in Health Education from Morgan State University and a Master’s in Public Health from University of Maryland College Park. As a Certified Pilates Instructor, she emphasizes mind-body connection, self-care, and holistic health, a philosophy she has lived personally through a 20-year pescatarian lifestyle and commitment to environmental sustainability.
Tyra serves as a Public Health Professional on the federal level, helping communities across the nation access essential healthcare services. She has also curated transformative self-care and wellness experiences in the DMV area, including social wellness events, Pilates classes as a 500-hour Comprehensively Certified Instructor, and community givebacks. Through Ty’s Garden, she provides a wide range of wellness products and holistic health resources that support both personal well-being and entrepreneurial wellness.
Tyra continues to cultivate spaces that inspire intentional living, strengthen community connections, and advance holistic health. With a thoughtful and intentional approach to partnership, she collaborates with businesses across the DMV—including Binge Bar DC in Washington, DC, Mayweather Boxing + Fitness in Bowie, MD, and Cup of Sugar Tea Lounge in Waldorf, MD—to curate elevated wellness experiences that feel both community-centered and purpose-driven.
Additionally, in her role as Executive Studio Lead for MuVe Studios in Alexandria, VA, she manages a boutique fitness studio centered on wellness, community, and self-care—further expanding her impact and hands-on leadership in creating intentional, elevated spaces for holistic living. Her work empowers individuals to prioritize wellness while fostering meaningful engagement with the people and spaces around them.
