Published

on

Washington, DCCapital City Mambo Sauce is bringing DC carryout culture to the main stage with the debut of the Carryout Classic, a live wing eating competition celebrating one of Washington, DC’s most iconic food traditions. Taking place from 12:30 PM at the Kingsford Great American Grilling Stage during the Giant BBQ Battle (Pennsylvania Avenue NW & 3rd Street NW), the Carryout Classic transforms a beloved staple of DC life into a high-energy public competition featuring wings, mambo sauce, music, and community.

Inspired by late-night carryout runs, fries drenched in mambo sauce, and the city’s unmistakable food culture, the event honors the role carryout plays in bringing DC together across neighborhoods and generations. The Carryout Classic is hosted by Kyle on The Mic with music by DJ Heat, creating a full DC experience that blends food, entertainment, and friendly competition.

The event is open to the public and non-professional competitive eaters. This is a celebration of DC culture in its most authentic form. Carryout is where the city comes together, and we wanted to bring that energy to life on stage.
