Coppin State University Welcomes Its Largest Freshmen Class In 25 Years

Coppin State University’s campus is vibrant and bustling as the fall semester rolls in. Eagle Nation welcomed over 1,000 new undergraduate students this fall, marking the largest incoming class in over a quarter-century. This dynamic class reflects Baltimore’s high-spirited energy and embodies Coppin’s enduring commitment to scholarship, and community impact. Students are arriving at Baltimore’s hometown university not only from across the city, but also from as far as Arizona, Oklahoma, Los Angeles, Nevada, and international destinations, bringing multicultural perspectives and global ambition to The Nest.

This class chose Coppin for rigorous academics, hands-on experiences, and a community that champions their success,” said Jinawa McNeil, Director of Admissions. “They are not just the largest class in years—they are among the boldest, traveling from across the country and around the world to join us. The new cohort “Eagle Domination” was officially welcomed to The Nest during Coppin State’s 2025 Convocation on Thursday, September 4.
