Baltimore City schools providing a free summer meal program

The Summer Food Service Program, which began on June 16, offers free meals to children as part of Baltimore City Public Schools.

Anyone who participates in a public or private non-profit school program during the academic year and is under the age of 18 or above the age of 18 with a physical or mental disability is eligible for meals.

The project, which is supported by the US Department of Agriculture, will run from June 16, 2022, to August 18, primarily on Monday through Thursday, with some sites also open on Friday.

You can obtain an application form or apply online to become a food-providing school in Baltimore City and start a summer meal program. location. The city stated that any non-profit organization, church, day camp, community club, or city agency can meet the requirements to become an SFSP site.

In the Summer Food Service Program last year, City Schools reported that it sponsored 161 sites and provided a total of 613,273 lunches.
