Washington Mystics headed back to the WNBA Finals

Published

on

The Washington Mystics have clinched a second straight trip to the WNBA Finals following a 94-90 win over the Las Vegas Aces concluding the semifinals with a 3-1 series win.

WNBA league MVP Elena Delle Donne led the Mystics with 25 points, six rebounds and two steals in the game. Off the bench, Emma Meesseman played a major role in the win with 22 points, three rebounds, three assists and three blocks while shooting 4/4 from the three point line.

Mystics guard Kristi Tolliver had 20 points and nine assists while Natasha Cloud had 11 points, nine assists and six rebounds in the game on their way to victory.

The Mystics will look to win their first WNBA Finals in franchise history as they face off against the Connecticut Sun. These two teams faced off in the regular season three times with the Sun taking the season series two wins to one. Although the Sun took the regular season series over the Mystics, the two games they won were on their home floor. It will be interesting to see if the Sun can snatch the homecourt advantage from the Mystics winning a game on the road.

The first game of the WNBA Finals will take place this Sunday on the Mystics home floor in the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
