Following the network’s announcement of a multi-picture deal with Grammy® Award winner Toni Braxton (Unbreak My Heart, Faith Under Fire: The Antoinette Tuff Story), Lifetime is debuting two films under the partnership: He Wasn’t Man Enough and Breathe Again. Expanding her iconic music into powerful, female-driven storytelling, Braxton serves as both star and executive producer, collaborating with an ensemble cast to deliver stories that embody strength, sisterhood, and second chances.

Set to premiere Saturday, November 22 at 8/7c as part of the network’s Love of a Lifetime November romance movie slate, Toni Braxton’s He Wasn’t Man Enough, stars Braxton alongside NAACP Image Award nominee Essence Atkins (The Noel Diaries, First Wives Club) and Emmy® nominee Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, The Mayor). Braxton plays bestselling author Mel Montgomery, whose world unravels when she discovers her boyfriend Richard (Thomas Cadrot, The Night Agent) has been deceiving her. When Mel learns Richard is now engaged to her estranged college friend Monica (Atkins), the two women, with the help of Mel’s loyal best friend Candy (Brown), set aside old wounds to stand together. What begins as betrayal becomes a story of resilience and solidarity—proving Richard picked the wrong trio to mess with. Because in the end, it was never about the man who failed them, but the women who chose each other. Always and without question… sisters over misters.

Debuting in 2026, Toni Braxton’s Breathe Again, reunites Braxton with Atkins who will be joined by Emmy® Award winner Cree Summer (A Different World, Rugrats). The film follows three women—Jennifer (Braxton), Vanessa (Summer), and Evelyn (Atkins)—who meet as contestants on a reality dating show and suffer heartbreak under the spotlight. Their shared rejection sparks an unlikely sisterhood that carries them from Los Angeles to a new life in Seattle. There, they navigate fresh starts, second chances, and the messy, hilarious realities of dating, friendship, and family. Jennifer rediscovers her voice as an artist, Vanessa rebuilds her interior design business while opening herself to love again, and Evelyn faces her grief by daring to embrace joy and possibility. Along the way, the women learn that while romance may come and go, female friendship is the love story that lasts a lifetime.

Both films are executive produced by Toni Braxton, Tanya Lopez and Kenneth Crear for Lifetime. Stan Brooks directs and executive produces both movies. Toni Braxton’s He Wasn’t Man Enough is executive produced by Gemma Martini, and Jonathan Shore and produced by Lighthouse Pictures from a script written by Aireka Muse, Tara Knight, and Angela Nissel. Toni Braxton’s Breathe Again is executive produced by Howard Braunstein from a script written by Nikita Hamilton.
