Constellation has launched an annual STEM education award program

On Tuesday, a Baltimore-based energy firm announced that it is taking applications for an annual award program that has delivered millions of dollars in financing to STEM programs across the country.

Constellation has established the 2022 E2 Energy to Educate initiative, which offers awards of up to $50,000 for college students and $25,000 for instructors and students in grades 6 through 12.

The initiative funds student projects centered on energy innovation. The company claimed it gave about $515,000 to 23 initiatives last year, reaching nearly 21,000 children nationwide, and has given nearly $5 million to date.

The application deadline is October 1st.

Kathleen Barrón, executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Constellation released this statement:

“To achieve our purpose of accelerating the transition to a carbon-free future, we need the brightest young minds to get excited about clean energy – and that means leaning in and supporting teachers and students who exhibit an authentic passion for STEM fields.

 

The innovation and imagination from some of our country’s youngest minds will help shape how we address the climate crisis, and Constellation is taking action to support their endeavors.”

Eligible projects must be in line with one of three energy innovation themes: equity in energy, sustainability as a lifestyle, or clean energy and less waste.
